Doing our part to preserve the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau is our priority. We use the finest, regionally-sourced materials. We skillfully marry your land to your home. Our choices are green, including repurposing leftover jobsite materials. We follow environmentally safe, sustainable practices. We raised the bar for the industry and challenge others to match that standard for the land we all cherish.
We take pride in making ourselves available to our valued clients. We create a strong partnership with Highlands' home owners - who are not always in town - by making our staff accessible, our communication frequent, and our exchanges by computer, phone, or text prompt and easy. Need an updated photo? You got it. Need to talk to Steve? You got him. We care. That’s why we’re always there for you.

How we build
Our home building process is threefold, simple and detailed: Pre Construction Planning, Construction, and Post Construction.
Uncommon to other builders, constant communication with the home owner is the common thread weaving throughout each step.
Always beginning with in-depth meetings and conversations with home owners, the pre construction process will give us an understanding of our clients wants, needs, and vision. Green Mountain Builders will form an understanding of the project, evaluating soil and site conditions, check existing utilities, search for green building options, create and communicate a strategy and schedule - guiding the client through every step. The owner will gain a full understanding of the cost, scope, potential issues and schedule of the project.
Like any major life event, building a home is a journey. Green Mountain Builders will communicate with you through each development. Each home and project is a different adventure, but below is a basic outline of the home building process.
After your home is complete, we'll do a final “walk through” with you in your new home. In addition to inspecting it and making a “punch list” of things you want us to refine, Green Mountain Builders will assist in getting to know your new appliances and security systems.

Testimonials
Mary Beth and SteveIt has been about 3 months since we moved into our newly renovated cottage and we could not be happier! … From day one, you helped us with the logistics, planning and extensive renovations to bring our vision to life. Green Mountain Builders enabled us to update our historic 1925 cottage with all the amenities of new construction, while preserving much of the original charm. … Steve, we appreciate that every idea we had (and admittedly, some were better than others) was entertained. Your team listened carefully, offered expert advice and helped us navigate the renovation process with ease. Thank you! The end result is better than ever imagined.
